About the Role
Are you enthusiastic about enhancing the quality of services provided to clients in the community? Do you enjoy facilitating positive outcomes for clients through good organisation and facilitation? Do you have leadership experience?
Metro North service area is seeking applications for an enthusiastic individual to lead, coordinate and support teams of Personal Care Workers to deliver exceptional quality care to an assigned group of clients (within zones) in the Metro North area. This role will initially be based at the Virginia office with the view of working across other sites in the Metro North service area.
Reporting to the Care Coordinator, and working closely through delegation with the nursing and allied health teams, the PCW Team Leader will assist with the facilitation and monitoring of individualised task plans which meet the needs of clients. This role will also provide day-to-day management and leadership of a team of Personal Care Workers, assist with the orientation of new staff and provide guidance and support including assessment of work practices, client documentation and other related activities, as delegated by the Care Coordinator.
While the PCW Team Leader will carry out some office-based functions, the incumbent will travel within the designated zones providing hands-on support to the Personal Care Worker team, and carrying out care-related tasks.
The successful applicant will have:
- Certificate IV in Home and Community Care or equivalent, or substantial progress towards this;
- Current First Aid Certificate;
- Current unrestricted Queensland drivers licence;
- Knowledge of community care services;
- Ability to effectively manage teams & facilitate change management;
- Knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety regulations and requirements;
- Sound interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills and an intermediate level of computer skills;
- Current National Police Certificate or eligible to receive one prior to commencing employment; and
- Willingness to travel frequently within designated client zones and to carry out care-related activities.
Previous experience in a senior Personal Care Worker or supervisory role or experience in facilitating non-clinical community based services is highly desirable.
